Ted, There are some very intelligent people with cogent arguments making the case against a pre-emptive strike against Iraq. If you are not hearing them, then you are doing it by intent. I read a lot of arguments, and they are mostly anything but cogent. Basically, I would accept argument from someone who supported first Iraq war, but opposed bombing of Yugoslavia. This way, there would be a consistency in their argument, which is, you don't go around attacking sovereign countries unless attacked first (or allies attacked), or facing imminent attack. The list of people who make this extremely simple argument (and do so consistently) is surprisingly short. Joe

As for Streisand et al, just for the record, they are no worse or no more ridiculous than the Coulters and Limbaughs of your world. Coulter and somtimes Limbaugh may be just as extreme in their own way but they seem to have more of an understanding of the issue and ability to make rational arguments then the Hollywood types. The knock Striesand et al is more shallowness then what the specific of their opinion. Coulter and Limbaugh are more analagous to liberal commentators and writers who have stron political opinions then they are to the Hollywood types who pronouce their opinions without seeming to have any real knowledge about the topic or any ability to construct a case for their opinion based on logic and facts.
