Why would being female make the sniper undetectable? Because people wouldn't be looking for a woman?

Gosh, even now? After thousands of women have received basic artillery training in our Armed Forces? I'd certainly include them.

If this guy has had any special forces training, the cops will never catch him.(ex navy seal). The victim that he miss with the head shot is very interesting. A normal pyscho would have shot again. It's a rule never shoot more than once.

I'm just starting to read the thread...have a lot to catch up on. This interested me very much, because I've been thinking exactly the same thing:

No. The one attribute this sniper - any sniper - can have which will, unless caught in the act, almost guarantee his ability to go undetected (or uncaptured) for months, years - indeed, perhaps ever...is being a woman.

I didn't follow the early shootings, and haven't gone back to read the relevant articles, but haven't all the victims been men?

A woman is more likely than a man to have a deck of tarot cards lying around the house. She's even more likely to think of buying a tarot deck and knowing where to get one.

If the sniper IS a woman, though, the police have some advantages. If she's a trained sharpshooter, she'll be easier to trace, as there are no doubt far fewer women who've undergone this training than men.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but as for range, how far from the body was the tarot card?
