Doesn't a sniper set up camp and wait until a target walks within range?..yep and the sad thing is this guy or woman could have picked out these places years ago.

Poet, Yeah, the housemom-in-a-station wagon idea is (almost) ridiculously unlikely, but bears some thought. (I tend to look toward the chubby ends of the tails habitually, anyway.) Snipers typically find a good point from which to survey a target area panoramically: one that at the same time provides good cover, concealment, and routes for escape. But, as previously mentioned, they're also trained to fire in transit at lucrative targets that suddenly, unexpectedly, present themselves. Which brings up another point: if indeed a white van/truck is the thread of continuity in these shootings and it is in fact his mode of transportation, I'm imagining that this person must park and walk a fair distance to his firing site(s). A few hundred feet, at least, to ensure that the vehicle isn't close enough to betray his position but close enough to make a quick getaway? That would hold true even if he has a driver accomplice. Yet again, unless he's firing from the back of the vehicle itself...? LPS5
