True, but eliminating Saddam does not eliminate the probability of this happening, it only reduces it. Terrorists can still acquire it from other countries

No question. But I believe the administration has made a judgment that Saddam is the greatest threat to our security at this time.

There are tens of good reasons why Saddam needs to be next on the list. Politically, it is easier than dealing with, for example, the Saudis or Iran (their days will come). Establishing something more resembling a democratic government in Iraq will be immensely helpful with both Iran and the Saudis (& others).

The ordering of our war on terrorism is critical -- we can't just go off willy-nilly doing this. And Saddam is one of the problems we can eliminate. Everyone hates him, and the Arabs will be much more America-friendly when he is gone.

Saddam may or not pose the GREATEST threat to us. But he is a logical next target for many other reasons. The fact that he MAY BE the greatest threat doesn't hurt the cause of making him next.

This war doesn't stop with Afghanistan then Iraq. There are still many, many other threats we're going to have to deal with before we've won the war on terrorism.

The question is do the American people have the stomach to do what has to be done. Clearly, the liberals don't. But one wonders how long the general public will remember 9/11.

"What happens if you are wrong, and Saddam DOES develop a nuke and deliver it to NYC in a shipping container" via Turkey? Assuming there is a 0.001% chance of this happening, the consequences of being wrong are staggering.
