Bullish bias is fine, but no-bias would be better. After all, there's a whole lotta money to be made shorting OSX from 112 to 80 and RIG from 31 to 18, just as much in fact, as doing it the other way around. I was spoiled by making my bones hereabouts going long, long, long (and margin) at OSX 44 the other year (98/99) and not selling until pretty much last call. But I've been trying to see the big picture ever since, and the key is that energy cycles, it cycles up, it cycles down. That's the beauty of it, to me. The cyclical action, like a carpenter's use of molding, can cover up a lot of errors.

Greenie was the last guy around here to be bearish when the bulls were running--now, Greenie had some "issues" (like veracity, and timing, and manners) but I always liked to see whatever outrageous thing he was flouting. At least it was about energy, and at least it was contrary.
