It was the worst job of my life. Anything they can do to get well paid is okay by me. I don't know how someone doesn't lose it after a couple of years of that kind of work. The unions love that kind of work. They will do anything to keep people standing next to machines, doing mindless monotonous work, rather than reducing the number of people doing this type of work by increased productivity, automation etc. It is the #1 issue: job security. It would appear that you have never worked a line. First off, assembly lines exist not because unions create them but because owners create them. Secondly, unions exist because owners were greedy and were doing as you are suggesting above.....using as few workers on the line as possible. That led to accidents that maimed and killed the workers while the owners refused to raise wages. Thus were born the unions.......had owners been fair and reasonable, there would have been no need for unions. You protest and complain about the shackles that bind us but you refuse to understand and acknowledge the causes that lead us to those shackles. Well, its too late.......the horse got out of the barn. And again, those workers are worth every penny they are paid. I just do not understand how they keep from whigging.Basically, they want people to stand there, being as unproductive as possible (so that more of these guys are needed), and they want these guys to make confiscatory wages, eventually bankrupting the employer. And then, once out of work, they will complain about imports, foreign competition, applying for jobs as security guards (once the reality sets in that they killed the goose that laid the golden eggs). In the first two quarters of the year, GM made $3 per share.......I hardly think the workers are standing around, staring at the ceiling. Why don't you go after the CEOs........they are the ones making millions and picking out 6k shower curtains?!! ted Joe Enter symbols or keywords for search:
