But you have taxable capital gains, so what's the difference? Pay tax on the capital gains or tax on the dividends. I suppose you don't actually pay any capital gains tax if you don't sell the shares for years, so you enjoy the profits on avoiding the tax in the meantime.

I suppose it'll have to be a vote since shareholders don't all have the same interest in dividend payments. Maybe the extra you'd get from the increase in share value would cover the extra tax?

I'll vote my <17 million shares in favour of dividends. Those against?
