You learned this from watching sci-fi, did you? For exposure into some deeper thought, I recommend reading sci-fi rather than watching it, as the books are invariably more profound than the movies. For starters, I highly recommend the Dune series of Frank Herbert, which I actually believe you will quite like.

Do you suggest that because we created a monster, we should just stand back and let him destroy others, as well as ourselves?

So why exactly do "you" create a "monster", if not to lash him onto others??? Perhaps not onto the "others" (i.e. friends) he is growling at now, but definitely onto some other "others" (i.e. enemies)?

Another simple moral from cheesy sci-fi films: Creating a monster is generally not a good idea, as monsters turn out to have little respect for masters :)
