interest rates

Richard, thanks for the occasional posts. Your insight into various companies is very useful.

It seems like the morgan stanley index tracks closely to the DJ index, as one would expect. Just listing the other index here for those who might not know of it.

Of course interest rates have a large influence on Reit prices. With interest rates dropping over the past 2 years, Reits increased -- as we can see from the link below. But maybe not as much as they should have? Now with interest rates possibly increasing (or at least expected to increase when the economy starts clicking) Reits and bonds might be at risk? Of course one needs to take into account that Riet's FFOs and dividends will also increase with the economy (and over time, in general). And I'm not sure how to do that.

I'm not sure that shorter term trend lines mean anything if interest rates are going to reverse. I'll think they'll overwhelm most other factors. ???

As indicated in post 2335, the ^RMS recovered to the 420 range. It wouldn't be unusual for it to retrace 32-68% back towards the 378 recent low. If so, this may be a good time for profit taking. The ^RMS should just trade in tighter and tighter ranges. Then the usual pattern is to make a false breakout one direction before making a strong move in the opposite.
