Ken Lay is a nice fat halibut, IMO. But I doubt we'll ever know the names of the true whales. IMO, they are shrouded in the halls of international investment banks. They laugh when they see the news. . . with the media calling the corporate execs the "culprits". . . the SEC chasing its tail. These guys were the original schemers from WAY back. Remember the congressional testimony a while back claiming that the "package deal" that investment bankers brought to Enron way back when was also "shopped" to at least 15 other companies?

"We will give you 4 upgrades, 2 secondary offerings, offshore placement, broker promotion and a cool half bil loan. . . . just show 4 consecutive quarters of positive earnings . . . and its all yours."

Those who originally implemented the plans were likely let go or shuffled off to some unrelated area of the company. . . making tracing the plans a near impossible task for the understaffed and overworked SEC investigation team.
