I think studies have been done on the reliability of studies. That data is out there, somewhere. There was a Scientific American article on it some years ago. Data miners sift the studies and re-sort them for all types of criteria, including rates of failure of a study to be repeated, and those studies on data are repeatable and the results should be reproducible. I bet you can even find such studies on the web.
