The CIA's credibility is very much at stake -- the accusation that the administration is not using CIA data, or is pushing the CIA to alter data, is much more serious if the CIA data has credibility. If it is generally known to be sheer guesswork anyway, what's the difference?

Have they actually fabricated intelligence, or have they simply exaggerated the meaningfulness of intelligence, in the aim of protecting America, of course. Peace through war, and all that.

I've seen references to fabricated intelligence before, but is there documentation of fabrications?
