I guess you have taken a break from reading X's mind and posting it so she doesn't have to bother and decided to do the same thing for me.

I also live in the area as you know. I didn't get caught up by the roadblocks. I'm still at work and I don't commute on the beltway or 95.

I agree that when there is news about the issue it deserves air time. And if someone has some insightful commentary then by all means share it, but if there is no new news we don't really need to have this one story take up more air time then all other stories combined...

At least it is not as annoying as the OJ case. I was watching the NBA finals. My favorite NBA team had made the finals for the first time in years and they keep cutting away from the game to show the slow speed chase of the White Bronco. What did they think he would get away from a couple of dozen police cars...

Many crazy killers, when interviewed, mention the thrill of seeing their crimes reported widely on TV and in the papers. Some of them keep scrapbooks of news reports.

I hate the idea that we play into that, and I've never been much of a fan of pandering to low public tastes. On the other hand, I would never tell people what to watch. The most I would do is say I don't like programs that have no educational or aesthetic value. To use Neo's system, it seems morally wrong to me to waste room in the brain with schlock, when you could be filling that space with good classical stuff. But I recognize that this is my subjective elitist view :-) I wouldn't make it a law or anything, except for my kids.
