We don't agree about much but that's more interesting than talking to people who agree with us all the time. To me, anyway.

Thanks, and I did mean "patronizing" rather than "paternalistic." I had just deal with some university health insurance issues in which the cover letter was objectionably so. The term was in my head and, not my usual practice, I failed to check the post before I hit the submit button.

On the Gore Bush case, Tribe would, of course, count with me. My views are very hard ones. And they derive more from extremely negative views of Scalia, Thomas, and Rehnquist, to somewhat less negative views of Kennedy and O'Connor.

Those negative views then found confirmation when I read the opinions of the various factions, the immediate commentary afterward, and the commentary of some friends of mine who teach in law schools around the country.

Just to say, it's not something I would be able to revisit with an open mind. And, also, I've got a long list of other things to read and think about.

My daughter's laptop just completely stopped working. So there goes some indeterminate amount of time trying to resurrect a computer.
