Hmmm, thinking long and hard, trying to find a clever response, none comes, . . . . thinking some more, still none comes.

Well, seriously, I don't turn off the television when Kissinger comes on; so I listen. I don't know whether Hitchens is right about him but I don't consider him Nobel material. As someone said, he got it for helping work out a treaty that he sabotaged several years before.

But "savage" is a bit strong, even for K.

I was objecting to the hyperventilating Weekly Standard style rather than the content. They appear to think that good political writing consists of simply checking out the most defamatory adjectives in their thesaurus. Some of us would prefer a bit of argumentation. Bill's Reason has it all over the Standard. Too bad it doesn't have the subscription level.
