"The [Palestinian] uprising is a once-in-a-lifetime historic opportunity to build the Ba'ath organization and expand its organizational base"

Kind of explains why the Arab League keeps insisting we solve Israel/Palestine before going after Saddam. They know Israel/Palestine will NEVER be solved without going after Saddam.

Please note that I am not arguing that getting rid of Saddam will solve Israel/Palestine.

The Saddam regime is said to have concluded that Iraq could exploit the Israel-Palestinian war to build a base in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The effort would focus on expanding the presence of the Iraqi Ba'ath Party with the approval of PA Chairman Yasser Arafat.

So where's the link between Saddam and the Islamic fundamentalists, Nadine? Well, you know, the same link that the pro-Israeli war hawks have been politicizing.
