Long-term investing went out of style years ago.<g> I can list dozens of small banks and mortgage brokers and S&Ls that are up 500% over the last 10 years. But no, that's not good enough. People want 50 percent returns THIS QUARTER. OR ELSE!!! Funny, in Barron's last week, they profile a guy who's 92 and has averaged 19.6 percent over the last 10 years. He was up 6.5 percent this year going into October. No, he doesn't have a mutual fund. And yes, he remembers the '30s. PB
