With regards to trading options (or trading in general), I would say go with Interactive Brokers.

interactivebrokers.com

I have two IRA accounts there (rolled over from other organizations), which I trade exclusively with stock and index options. The reason I can 'scalp' options throughout the day is the low commission: 1 dollar per contract. Period. Today I traded 120 QQQ puts for a dime (10 bucks) profit, and commissions were 240 bucks.

I also use IB for my Futures Account and another account for trading stocks (where again, I just trade options). I have all four java programs running on 1 machine and have never had any problems with resources.

They're well worth a look.
