Hi KLP; [OT] Re: "laws are laws".

Well, stupid is stupid, LOL.

We are in control. We make the laws, the laws do not make us. If our courts [run by human beings, not laws] do not enforce a law, it's no longer in effect. Ask CobaltBlue for references. Our legal system is loaded with thousands of laws that are not enforced.

If you're going to argue for a particular law to be enforced, using "laws are laws" won't get you very far. To get the humans to enforce the laws you actually have to influence them into thinking that they are worthwhile. Otherwise the humans, nasty creatures that they are, will find some excuse or another [typically some other law, LOL] to disregard them.

I'm not arguing that this is the correct moral way to run the society, but I suspect it is. In any case, this is definitely the way that our society is run, and no society on the planet has ever subjected itself to laws that it didn't feel like enforcing. Humans are humans, until they are changed, MIRACULOUSLY, (LOL).
