They can believe what they wish, I wouldn't stop them... religions can be very helpful... religion can quench that spiritual thirst that each of us has, and religion can satisfy that primal need that people have to share a common memory... but much like that simple example of misusing the kitchen fire, religion can also be abused... we don't have to look very far to see how the Islamic Fundamentalists make righteous claims in the name of there Deity...
