Quehubo, Thanks for your erudite synopsis. I'm now a believer!

Looking at some interesting stuff and would like to throw out a few names in the off chance that someone else here is following these:

1) Callon Petroleum (CPE) -- Exciting deepwater Gulf plays. I actually already own a signficant amount of this one and am looking to add.

2) The Exploration Co. (TXCO) -- Found a big oil field in Maverick Basin, TX (its Commanche field) last spring, but having problems with water now.

3) The Meridian Resource Co. (TMR) -- The perrenial question is, why is it so undervalued?

4) Contango Oil & Gas (MCF) -- Just announced plans to sell virtually all of its production, which is worth almost double book, yet still selling for around book.

5) Mission Resources (MSSN) -- Way over-indebted but recently amended its credit agreement and is now virtually assured of survival for the foreseeable future, yet the stock has sunk to almost bankruptcy-expecting levels. Selling for less than the amount of cash it will probably generate in the next 2 quarters.

Any comments on the above (or any other E&P microcap/smallcap ideas) would be appreciated.
