I would put it on the front page if I was working for a newspaper in the area, but I would not make it the banner headline, and I would only run stories that had new facts. I don't think I would run lots of stories about former mass killers or snipers either. If my paper were far away from the incident, I would bury it in the paper. My paper would cover world news much more heavily than any paper I've ever seen, and I would also cover legislation, both state and federal legislation, extensively. That sort of thing really affects people, but doesn't get the coverage it deserves (IMO).
