I would put it on the front page if I was working for a newspaper in the area, but I would not make it the banner headline, and I would only run stories that had new facts. I don't think I would run lots of stories about former mass killers or snipers either. If my paper were far away from the incident, I would bury it in the paper. My paper would cover world news much more heavily than any paper I've ever seen, and I would also cover legislation, both state and federal legislation, extensively. That sort of thing really affects people, but doesn't get the coverage it deserves (IMO). I'll be back later, to see if you disagree :-) Now you tell me what you would do if you produced the news.
