Yes, I've thought about that risk. In fact, that is the biggest threat to my buy plan. But in the end, I just decided that I can't invest based on the vagaries of war and world turmoil. I just have to keep up my regular investment program. The only exception to this rule is that I had been accumulating a bundle of cash over the last year and decided that I'd buy during the months of Sept and Oct, because I felt we are near a bottom and that those months have historically been good times to buy. Anyway, we shall see.

I just wish we'd get on with it. If we're going to attack Iraq, then let's do it and get Saddam out of power as soon as possible. If we're not going to do it, then let's get on with the inspections and put the chapter behind us. Either way, it's the uncertainty that is taking huge chunks out of American retirement accounts.
