Most of us appreciate having the articles (most of them anyhow....) It allows us to have the effect of reading 20 or so newspapers around the world, and seeing what various locations and various columnists think about a similar event.

But that's precisely the point. If one measure of a policy is the cost benefit ratio, then I'll stick with Ken's very loose policy on this one. It means we get the multiple sources kind of thing but have to pay the cost of a not-too-frequent multiple post thing. To make everyone check for previous posts would diminish the number of posts. I, for instance, might decide it's not worth the effort and simply skip posting an article or two or three. Surely others would do the same.

Having said that, I wish there were a policy which would encourage us to post our articles but reduce the multiple postings.

Something else to talk about sometime is various strategies some of us adopt to read the thread and do other things with our lives. I'm changing my patterns to more skimming.
