I'm surprised it hasn't got here yet, it will though. If we actually do have some success stopping the big ones they will resort to stuff like this. It is just not possible to stop these types of events.

Focus on being the "world police" that our current administration is working so hard to be will not help homeland security.

People like the "Virginia Sniper" (Why isn't he identified as a terrorist??) have always scared me more than a middle eastern "terrorist." Yes the "terrorist" game in airplanes changed when the WTC was hit but I claim that it isn't the security at the airports that's keeping planes safe in the air. It's the passengers on board taking action when someone is threatening or gets out of hand. At some point something has to give.

We can't pay for all the extra billions in Airport security, billions in hunting down Al-Qaeda, billions in ousting Saddam, and then the billions a year in keeping the peace in IRAQ etc... Citizens are required to be fiscally responsible so why don't we hold our Gov't to the same standard?

If we don't take care of our economy we could see "sniper" copy cats come out of the woodwork or even worse "bombers". The "kickin" economy is what has kept this from happening "en mass" here in America in the past. Everyone had jobs and good paying ones at that. If it wasn't good paying you moved on.

Good economy = Plentiful jobs = money to spend = Satisfied people = Homeland Security(from the inside).

FT

I know the Mall of America has been preparing/working on quite a bit of anti-terrorism training/response. However, with more visitors than Disneyworld and damn near everyone carrying a bag/package of some sort, I think preventing an attack would be next to impossible. Would defintely crush retail stocks and the retailing sector.. while being a boon to online retailers. Something to think about I guess.. as horribly morbid as it sounds.
