Raymond, I am going to mention something here I have never written on the internet.

Do you realize the Carter Adminstration had in place a last-resort thermo-nuclear weaponry option for stopping the Soviets from reaching a warm-water port at the Arabian Sea via their invasion of Afghansitan?

That is a fact, Raymond. Deal with it. Carter launches the nuclear missile! Geometrically bigger and more horrific than Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

Deal with it, you simple, niave pig. Freedom sucks, huh? Yeah, "Down with liberty."

The Russians were doing quite well and were on their way to winning in Afghanistan. They moved in with those big mean helicopter gunships and the rebels would shoot at them with their rifles, to no avail. Then the rebels would retreat to the mountains and try to hide.

But then the US said, hey we can't let this happen, the Ruskies could drive all the way to the Arabian Sea for a warm-water port.

So via the CIA we supplied the rebels (bin Laden and his friends) with Stinger surface to air rocket launchers and trained them how to use them. This turned the tide. Without this help, the Russians would have won. it took yrs for the war to officially end, as the Russians were very reluctant to withdraw and admit defeat.

You should be thankful that true patriots like Brezezinski ware there to act as he did. Or perhaps today, you'd be taking Russian lessons with a Soviet rifle barrel nudged against your fool head.

Victor

ray. You posted ad-nauseam how democrat president Carter wins the Nobel Peace prize and of course you added a misleading titles of your own. then the next day you post this....." Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention"

Innocent people died as a direct result of his policies.

Now you post something that indicates maybe carter should not get nobel prize at least not for his time as president.

You are one very confused and dangerous person.
