I don't think Bush and his team really gives a rat's ass what the nobel group does or says, they probably think the nobel committee members are nothing more than prize idiots themselves...

The Nobel Committee audaciously cited Carter's eagerness to sabotage the foreign policy of his successors as a reason for his prize. Here's what they said: "In a situation currently marked by threats of the use of power, Cater has stood by the principles that conflicts must as far as possible be resolved through mediation and international cooperation based on international law, respect for human right and economic development." The committee's Chairman added that Carter's prize "should be interpreted as a criticism of the line that the current administration has taken...It's a kick in the legs to all that follow the same line as the United States."

A patriotic American would refuse any foreign prize that comes with insults to his country. But not Jimmy Carter. His character is such that patriotism takes a very distant back seat to vanity and malice.
