(You should take a good look at the map showing the relative positions of India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.)

The US planes (or Coalition aircraft) may still want to (or will have to) fly over Pak territory. If that be the case, then the Pak fundamentalist Muslims will go on wrangling no end and put up roadblacks, figuratively and literally.

Also, it's not so practical: the planes will have to fly over a longer distance anduse more fuel, and so will be less able to stay aloft for long enough to be able to deal with the enemy. Yea, there will be shit loads of problems and problems and problems ...........

To be sure, there's gonna be no easy fix.
