They make no apologies for the idea that politics DOES weigh on the selection process as it pertains to waging peace - not war.

They have given the prize as an encouragement to those politicians who they thought were taking the right steps for peace. I don't think they have ever given the prize as an open -- not just implied -- rebuke to a politician they thought was taking the wrong steps.

Not sure if I'm being chided for having said to Nadine that she should not have dared link anything from Weekly Standard. In case I am, I want to make it clear that it was a bit of a joke based on a suggestion made elsewhere that Weekly Standard is a no-good, National Enquirer yellow journalism rag.

I don't really care (or know) what kind of newspaper Weekly Standard might be, so there is no a priori judgment being made. However, I am familiar with Gerecht, and he is OK with me, despite his MA in Islamic Studies from that second rate grammar school, Princeton A&M, where he probably studied under the simplistic and inexperienced Mr. Lewis.

Get my drift?

Is there air-conditioning in outer space?

Suddenly I'm curious about that.
