Actually, I'm working on a theory that Raymond is a plant by the Bush administration. His job is to make such outlandish statements online, taking liberalism to such extremes, that it will make all liberals look silly.

Alternatively, he could be the sniper, trying to throw us off topic so we don't solve the mystery.
