Victor, I hadn't thought of that. Our troops, and equipment, had not been exposed to desert conditions since the battle of North Africa in WW2. I, certainly, did not intend to belittle the efforts of the troops on the scene of the attempted rescue of the hostages. As the brave, and loyal, types they are, they were bound by their code of honor to do their best regardless of the circumstances. It was the brass hats that I was referring to, but failed to think that they were too young at the time of our last venture in the desert, and had no way of knowing everything that may be in store for such and operation.
