I hate to call it the perversion of Islam- since I don't like calling the very radical far right Christians a perversion of the Christianity. I don't agree with them (or with the Wahhabis) but calling them a perversion means there is some "right" (as opposed to wrong, not as opposed to left) way to interpret these religions and their sacred texts.

While I do not like Wahhabism I think calling it dangerous to our interests, is "better", and serves our aims more fully, than calling it a perversion. In my opinion.
