So Bush and Cheney were only 80 times closer to the energy industry than Clinton - instead of 100 times closer?

Again, your saying it doesn't make it factual. If you'll put aside your partisan blinders, you'll find the Democrats are MUCH MORE involved with these corporate ripoffs than are the Republicans.

While you accuse the Bush Administration, if you consider the facts rather than the political line, what you find is that Bush's administration acted totally properly. I defy you to find A SINGLE INSTANCE where a Bush administration acted improperly. The media hasn't been able to do it, and you can't either. On the other hand, Democrat-Corporate corruption is everywhere. This issue is a great example of the consequences of a liberal media bias -- while the fact is that the Republicans are much cleaner than the Democrats, the non-thinking public actually believes the Republicans are dirty.

So, expanding on the point you made, Democrats consider themselves to represent all parts of America, while Republicans seem to think that only the wealthy are worth consideration - the rest of America can rot, in their opinion.

This kind of overly broad generalization is useless. If it is your opinion, fine -- you're entitled. But I don't know how one would prove or disprove such a statement.

I have a very difficult time getting past the lack of basic logic in the liberal argument. There are few subjects that a liberal can tackle and put forth a highly logical argument on; it almost always degenerates to ad hominem attacks and name-calling. The conservative argument is, in most respects, highly supportable.

For me, trying to debate these subjects with liberals is a little frustrating, because liberals seem to be unable to grasp, in any analytical way, the concepts involved. So you end up making these generalizations that are, frankly, meaningless other than as an opinion. Perhaps it is a left-brain/right-brain problem, or just a general lack of intellect on the parts of liberals; I'm not sure.

So, expanding on the point you made, Democrats consider themselves to represent all parts of America, while Republicans seem to think that only the wealthy are worth consideration

I have no doubt Democrats consider themselves to represent all parts of America. Can you name for me a single Republican who DOES NOT consider himself to represent all parts of America? Just one? The point is, EVERYONE considers themselves to represent ALL PARTS of America. But WHO REALLY DOES IT? Talk is cheap.

The difference is that Clinton had a relationship with the energy industry while Bush and Cheney were one of them. And that difference is huge. Its why Cheney could sell oil equipment to Iraq and then a few years later push for Saddam's disposal.

Its why Bush can condemn corporate malfeasance but 'forget' to submit the appropriate SEC filings on one of his business deals.

For them, business is business and attacking Iraq is just more business. The hypocrisy never crosses their minds. I am afraid the real Bush and Cheney are the two guys cursing during the campaign when they thought the mikes were off!
