BR - Burlington Resources -

I owned BR for a short while. One thing I did not like was it's price action was worse than APC, DVN, and some others -BR turned down earlier, and dropped more.

Think I may pick another horse next time - maybe DVN (Devon).

The DVN situation is bit like UPR was - lots of reserves, lots of debt. UPR got behind the curve and seem to be pushed to sell. I don't think DVN is quite as bad as UPR.

The Mitchell Barnett Shale stuff provide huge value - by the way , they hav been re-fracing old shale wells and getting more production out. A few have been re-fracted 3 times now. Of course, the early fracs weren't as good as today's techniques.

Devon was also getting some cost savings from combining operations with Santa Fe Synder, although most of that cost saving should have happened by now.
