Another interpretation: It has nothing to do with the American people, and the poll respondents know that. I suspect most respondents mean that, in some vague way, the United States was insufficiently ''nice'' And nothing to do with being 'nice'. The 200 military incursions since 1950 help cause resentment. Planning to replace the Cold War monopoly with a new controlled war, the spooks hiding in the Bushes planned during the Reagan/Bush administration to train new enemies, and hit upon training an ancient, failed, warlike culture, the the militantly ignorant Islamists. The first suicide bombing incidents began in 1982, not a coincidence. It will likely turn out that the "psychosis" wouldn't have reached this point without billions from CIA and Saudi Arabian partners, ostensibly to beat the Russians. Actually, thousands sent through CIA-prepared terrorist training camps and millions of schoolbooks feeding war-as-normal-existance written in the US were for the purpose of creating a controllable enemy for budget and strategic purposes. In the current case, the purpose is a business deal. Neither Saudi Arabia nor Israel wants Iraq there, but they are irrelevent. It's a trillion+ dollars in oil and control of that region, plus the big kahuna of wartime political control of the US electorate that counts. jmho

Jewish-American arrogance imposed upon US foreign policy is the number one cause of Islamic fanaticism. The Jews first colonized and dispossessed the Palestinian people in Israel proper. They then moved into the West Bank, Gaza, Golan Heights, Sinai and the Lebanese Shebaa farms. Then they started building illegal settlements on these Palestinian, Syrian, Egyptian and Lebanese lands and next they talk of annexing their neighbors lands ethnically cleansing the Palestinians. Israel was given tens of billions of dollars to remove their occupation forces and settlements from the Sinai And how have these Judeofacists funded this aggression and annexation over the last fifty years? Through the $200,000,000,000 + in arms and economic assistance provided by American and Western European tax payers. In other words, America has been funding Jewish/Zionist terrorism against the Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian people of the Middle East. The Jewish-American Israel-First lobby has imposed Israel's foreign policy upon our own. Sharon/Israel now dictates America's foreign policy.
