When Clinton left, the Joint Strike Fighter was one of the weapons platforms that was considered expendable if others were built. However, it is now planned at a cost of about $235 billion. There are a handful of other programs that were started in this administration but none as large as the Joint Strike Fighter. One is at $59 billion--a mere pittance in defense terms.
