on Social Security, even though you've got Medicare Part A and Part B,

I am in that situation, and recently joined he Kaiser HMO here in the Islands. It cost me $72 a month on top of "B". I expected to have to push for care, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have a good basic Doctor, who refers without demur to the specialists I need. 4 week wait for the Specialists on a non emergency basis, which is normal. The Specialists are as good or better than the PPO guys I had in California. The $72 charge was the same thing they were charging the past year, so they seem to have things under control.
