<< He manages money for wealthy clients. His big winner was a tiny New York bank that he bought for $1.50 on the IPO in 1993. Today, it trades for 2 times book value and he says he would buy more.>>
An IPO that made money? Tell him not to sell out short, his story is worth a fortune to any broker
hawking a new IPO today.
Re Ba: My top short candidate for today, having lost an order for 240 airplanes to Airbus. Whut has the world come to, one airline buying not 10 or 40 at a time but 240? Since BA subs a lot of work, that means subcontractors may have to reduce their production plans for that contemplated order and NOC may take a dip also.
T minus 5 hrs hrs and counting. Am not absolutely sure the market is open today but signs are that it is.

Morning PB
IMO the only way to learn this game (and have lessons sink in) is to continue to actually invest at least small sums.
Today I will try to buy puts on Noc and Ba. And calls on Bmc, Tsco.
Overall am running about 1/2 short and 1/2 long and therefore market opening down does not cause panic or worry, which frees me to continue work on this house.
I have a new room about 14 by 23 nearly finished which will be "my" room for library, pictures, exercise equipment.
Some people collect bowling trophys, cat-show ribbons, moose heads to remind them of past success
I have things like one first place ten-k gold medal, sharpshooter medals, a 1917 gold peice.
And 40 shares of Dell from 1993. Which can be hung on the wall.
I have taken many lumps in this market, and now the one thing that irks me most is that I have to be conservative in buying materials.
I say to paste your best past efforts on the wall to remind one they have been succesful in the past
and can be again- otherwise just playing with this kind of market can often trash ones ego.
