Your original comment implied that the sniper chose Maryland because its anti-gun and people wouldn't have guns to shoot back. My point wasn't that Maryland isn't anti gun, they are. But to imply from that, that the citizens aren't armed is a mistake. They are heavily armed and there is an enormous amount of gun related crime. This is the reason there is so much anti-gun sentiment. Having guns doesn't protect you from some wacko who decides that target practice isn't enough to get him off anymore and wants to start taking out live targets. Its ludicrous to even suggest it.
