The heat in southern climes lends itself to greater corruption and acts of lawless desperation. The advent of air-conditioning in modern times has tended to ameliorate this tendency somewhat, however.

Unfortunately, it fails to explain why civilization, a historical trend motivated by creating collective security in order to defend against corruption and lawlessness, originated in warmer climes before the colder ones...

But I'm sure that we could potentially see Air Conditioner manufacturers throughout the country trying to capitalize on such logic...
