Unfortunately your knowledge about Islam is full of ignorance (not to offend you!). Tom is right, the downfall of muslims started when muslim women stopped contributing to the society. At its peak several of the best scholars were women. Now a days its hard to find even a single women scholar. At its peak some of the best muslim men scholars acquired knowldege from women scholars. FYI, Iranian parliment has the highest number of women members far higher than any western country. ps: we can take this discussion off line.

OT Well put, Mind. A lot of people are bending over backwards not to offend Muslims. However, some of the extremist adherents of the "peaceful religion" are at it again, kiling 200 people in a nightclub in Bali. Prior to that they were setting off bombs in India. <<Everyone talks about the brilliance of Islam's great civilization, but that was centuries ago. We could also talk about the brilliance of the Roman Empire, but what difference does it make in today's world? >> Arabic culture at one time was quite advanced. An example is the Arabic number system. That was prior to Mohammed. Once Mohammed hit the scene, that all changed. btw, once the Taliban were banished from Afghanistan the most popular song was the theme song from the Titanic movie. Like everything else it had been banned under the taliban. I thought that was pretty funny.
