RE: I'm surprised the administration has not made that case better.

Maybe they can't since there's no evidence? Ever consider that? They had some lame connection about an Al Qaeda member getting medical treatment in Baghdad, but that doesn't prove anything, IMO. I couldn't agree more that Saddam is an evil SOB who should suffer the most painful death possible, but containment does seem to have kept him in check. At least, he only abuses and murders his own people now. Should we invade every country that has civil rights abuses? We probably need to clean up a few things at home before we could feel righteous about doing that.

You realize we have been in violation of UN sanctions, and we have WMD. Many countries are in this position- I prefer a bright line for war. It is one of the most serious decisions a country makes, to take the lives of the people in other countries, possibly on a massive scale, and to risk our own men and women. When I think of the time we give to ONE person in this country, with our protections of due process, when the state takes a human life, I think that our calculations for massive takings should be almost as careful. IMO there is no evidence that we have been careful at all in this case.

That is my opinion, based on the way it looks. It looks like a SNAFU to me. Let them ge their ducks in a row. I will support a just war, that does not set bad precedents. This does not appear to be that kind of war.
