Try visiting Bob Jones College/University sometime. People send their kids to Bob Jones University, in part, to keep them from being exposed to ideas. That's a given. No doubt there are others - maybe Mormon colleges in Utah? Those aren't "conservative," they're religious. The Religious Right vote Republican because of abortion. If the Democrat Party and the Republican party switched positions on abortion, they'd vote Democrat.

Try visiting Bob Jones College/University sometime. I spent quite a few years dancing with kids from very Religious Private Colleges in Southern California. I think you would be surprised at the amount of left-wing thought on the campus's there The difference is the Conservative thought is "mainstream." Very nice young people, who went retro and swing because it was an acceptable outlet for them. Little do there parents know just how much "Dirty Dancing" there is in Swing. Especially when danced by a "Dirty Old Man" like me. :^) lindybill@dothemessaround.com
