The Palestinians are fighting for their "own" property. The Iranians and Iraqis couldn't make the Palestinians peaceful if they wanted to. And since the Palestinians are close ethnic cousins of the Iraqis, and religious 2nd cousins of the Iranians, the Iraqis and Iranians give them assistance.

It's not as if the IRA was "acting on the orders" of the United States, it's simply that there are a hell of a lot of Irish sympathizers in the US, and so they supported the IRA with money. The Palestinian / Iraq / Iran (and Kuwait, for that matter), connection is similar. Birds of a feather, flock together.
