Yesterday you asked at what point the military replaced a barrel as being shot out. I had coffee with a Federal Marshall who had done some match shooting in the Marines. The top match shooters get a new barrel every 800 rounds and the rest get changed out at 1,200 rounds. He says 500 rounds will definitely change the marking on the bullets.
