I think it depends on your cpu speed and amount of ram. Xp needs a ton of both to run well. I upgraded a Dell 450 with 384 sdram a few months ago and it struggles running XP. With the low prices of new systems today why not go for the gusto. I guess it all depends on your needs...or better yet...your wants. Do I like my new Compaq (almost a year old now)? Yes.

Would I like the newest/greatest? Yes.

Do I need the newest/greatest? No. (sigh)
