The whole idea of the Iranians running Arafat is ludicrous. I'd bet that what was going on was a "suggestion", not an "order". Hell, the Iranians don't even speak the same language as the Palestinians.

This whole concept you're getting at is the modern equivalent of the "red scare". Back then, all leftists were assumed to be directed by a single country, the USSR. Now you think that all Moslems are directed by some sort of shadowy secret government. That makes about as much sense as supposing that the Western nations are secretly run by the Jews, or that all Catholics follow orders issued by the Vatican.

The concept of the Palestinians taking orders from both the Iranians and Iraqis is doubly ludicrous, since the Iraqis and Iranians are vicious rivals. In short, this whole thing smells like another Debka fantasy.
