<i agree, with the caveat that the deep thought can include a component that counts on other people's emotions...> For sure. And here is a classic example of that in remark to Nikkei rallying at open today << Investors in Tokyo, cheered by the third straight session of gains in New York stocks Monday, bought blue chip issues, traders said.>> The world watches our every move as it has become dependent on us for all things. We have several good days, the global market rallies.
And that can feed back into our rallying some more which in turn can feed more into a totally mindless emotion driven rally(all such rallies are doomed, but the stronger they are the better to short after playing the long from the point of OVERSOLD---i would never chase one these if i missed not having positioned at pre-rally point indicated by major oversold).
If i was "back in the saddle"(will be in about 30days) and doing some quick money 2-4day trading, i would play that aspect of the market.
But for LTBH who decides NOT to sell his deep losses and for LTBH throwing more money in ; this is all disaster for these folk.
In watching the quick money moves i have to say i am however surprised there has been little discussion of ^DJX options. Over the past year they have been super, as the DOW is being run up and down in such big moves with near precision one could be playing IOM ^DJX quite successfully, imo.
