Since fines obviously aren't getting his attention perhaps a 3 game sit might. I don't think they have any choice really.

Well.....under the current rules I think you give him a heft fine....At least 25k. That said I think the league policy is inconsistent. I see many hits where the player leads with his helmet. If fact, if you tackle correctly you do lead with your helmet and then lift your head up just before contact. So....what I believe the real issue was with last nights hit is he left his feet to make the hit. It should be explained that it was the leaving of his feet that drew the penalty and fine.

However, it doesn't change my opinion though that helmet to helmet hits and hits where a player leads with the helmet are frequent in the NFL. These hits get flagged at the discretion of the Ref and I don't like that. I don't like the inconsistency of this penalty and in all honesty...I loved the hit. Maybe I'm a WWF trailer dweller for saying this but I thought the hit was great and hits like that set the tone for a game. If I'm the owner I reach into my pocket and give the player the fine money and tell him to keep up the good work. <g>
