Difference is not many women in America are subjugate. If they are, it's usually against the law. In the Middle East, women are subjugated on a daily basis. Women have nothing near equal footing to men in the Middle East.

I agree with you that both the Bible and the Quran have passages that imply women are inferior to men, but at least in the U.S., we've risen above that. There is no excuse for Islamic countries treatment of women. For heck's sake, I woman can't even kiss a man on the forehead in Iran, without the Ayatollah cracking down on morals in the country. What a joke!

Clearly there is a cognitive dissonance at play here. Large sectors of the Islamic populations blame westerners and western nations, esp the US for their own mislerble condition.

In indonesia it is well known that the muslims will attack, rape and do other things to the Chinese there who are relatively succesful in business and retail.

It's a leap as they try to look for external factors to explain their own sense of powerlessness and bitterness.
